Hello all,

Found this place after looking at my mini M453 YPX in a dealers. There is a sticker in each rear window and the car is on the wall paper of these very pages.

Any info, tales or adventures greatly appreciated, good or bad. Tried to get logged in before I bought it to find out why it found him/herself on a dealers forecourt with a 'recon' engine and looking a bit sorry for itself. Things seem to check out and it shows itself as a JCG supplied works, or Si edition with certs, though with plenty of miles!

Full resto now on the cards, the deals done and the car will be with me mid december (I've done my own work in the past and now simply don't have the time, so a comprehensive list of body work is now being undertaken to bring the little white cooper beyond original quality) just looking for as much history as poss please. He/She will be a keeper. I've had a few mini's previously, and the cooper has come to a good home with a heated garage and some German friends, retro and otherwise.

Cheers all, hopefully all good news.....?

Hi there and welcome, I don't recognise the number plate, but the only person I can remember with a white cooper (although I thought his was as S) was a guy called Alex.

Some one else on here might be able to add some further detail though.

Hello! I just got your email icon_biggrin.gif

The car belonged to Alex (I'll let him know you're here!) The Mini's name is Lucy icon_wink.gif

Alex sold it when he bought a new Mini Cooper S.

Welcome to the site!

Thanks folks. 'Lucy' (was hoping from something a little more manly - my last mini was named Winston Churchill, though his 'girlfriend' was named Molly) will be well looked after and used properly after a (fair) bit of TLC.

Winston was sold out of necessity. Lucy I think is a keeper....

List of work currently being undertaken before delivery:

Front Panel
A Panels
Wings
Scuttle
Grille
Exhaust (Full)
Some remedial engine work (on account of 120k on clock) Will be keeping orig block for future tinkering..
Sill repair (small patch let in)
Front end paint
Sills bare metaled, stone chipped and painted body colour
Boot internal repaint (been painted black)
New boot lid
Valance bare metal and repaint

The rest of the paint will be done to match when I get a spare cold dark weekend. Then its the tinkering.

A novel purchase. I wouldn't normally buy from a 'dealer' as such, and I've never come away having spent so much MORE than the screen price!?!

No cheque book hero, but this gets me a useable a sound mini straight away. I saw a few others but wanted a white JCG S...
