Hi All,

I'm Nick and I'm fortunate enough to be the Event Manager for 'Mini In The Park'. I am employed by Event Developments who have recently taken over the event from Mini Magazine's owners Future Publishing. The new website is up and running and planning for this years event are going really well, but would like to ask you all what would you like to see at the event (within reason!), or conversley what you wouldn't like to see at the event (again, within reason!). I can't promise that I can please all of the people all of the time but I will certainly do my best !!

I look forward to hearing from you.
Burt
Hi welcome to the club

as part of last years winning team i think the mini push should be there again! icon_smile.gif

i thoroughly enjoyed last years MITP, ok so it was my first one, but i thought the elements of the show were spot on, there was enough to keep you occupied all day, club stands, stalls, plenty of food and drink, sociallising, the mini push, but my all time favourite which i would love to see again and again and again, was the jet car, that thing blew my mind and made my whole weekend priceless. i wouldnt change a thing other than to ensure that there is equal mix of new and classic car stalls. in my opinion Showdown catered mostly for classic cars and the stalls were all for them, i didnt feel it was MINI/mini friendly when finding things to do throughout the day, but luckily we had good camping companions who made the event. MITP would be the one show i would attend again each year, so if its not broke, dont try and fix it Laie_22.gif

hello and welcome to ECMC icon_biggrin.gif

I agree with Bint on this one, last years show at the pod was really cool and the only thing it lacked was more MINI stalls.

I didn't really look into going up and down the drag strip last year so i don't know if this was there last year and i don't know what insurance issues there are but it would be cool if there were some cars there that you could hire to do a run down the strip if you were scared about taking your 'everyday' car down the strip.

If you got one car to hire to take down the strip you could run a competition for the fastest time and a booby prise for the slowest time for that car?

Hi,

Welcome to ECMC icon_smile.gif

I attended my first MITP last year and found it geared more to classic minis with no stands for modern minis.

There were alot of modern minis in the carpark so lets get them in the paddocks icon_smile.gif

It would be good to get 50 minis to make up the number 50 for a phot shoot/arial shot if poss??

Welcome to the site.

50 mini's done in the shape of a number 50 would be a great idea as its the 50th Anniversary this year.

Again I think the only thing that would be good to see would be more stalls for the MINI, apart form that, I've attended 3 MITP's and enjoyed all of them.

Hi and welcome, great show loved it last year, siting the clubs on the hardstanding was a great idea, things to change? Start the event on saturday lunchtime or at least have a little more to do in the afternoon and evening, a larger trade area (open on saturday?) would be good also to include some MINI stands for the BMWs if at all possible. Another area that could be better sited was the owners cars for sale section, last year it was right at the back of the club stands well out of the way. Can i suggest club stand tickets (only) include free camping as a bonus for being the stars of the show, maybe limit the amount of club stand places (10 cars max per club?) to stop everyone camping for free.

Hey Nick, welcome to ECMC

thanx.gif for taking the time out to canvass opinion about the show.

I downloaded the clubstand form the other day and will start getting this lot to get their names down. One thing about that, is that the club apps have to be paid for in advance, which can sometimes be a PITA to get everyones lolly all together before sending the application in, otherwise some poor sod has to shell out and hope everyone pays..... dance2.gif

thanx.gif All your responses are great, keep them coming !!

I am pleased to see that most of your ideas are in line with what we have been thinking about in the office - I think the main comment from yourselves is the inclusion of the BMW MINI's, I have just signed up 'Modern MINI' as an associate sponsor so this should assist with attracting some of the traders for this part of the market - our aim is to be open to all marques of Mini.

I have already started the ball rolling on the 50 Mini's idea - will be mentioned in next months Mini Magazine.

Once again many thanks, and keep the ideas coming !!

With the 50 mini idea, it would be quite a cool idea to have 50 classics and 50 BMW Mini's done in the shape of a 50 side by side.

or 25 classic minis for the '5' and 25 new minis for the '0'
Gavin
Something actually selling something for the MINI would be an advantage!!
